We believe in the land! And we hope our site has inspired you to stop and smell—and draw and paint—the roses and any other botanicals you love.

We also hope you will join us in supporting those who work in natural science, agriculture, horticulture, and food service. Over the years, we have met hundreds of dedicated teachers, artists, illustrators, farmers, gardeners,  conservationists, botanists, chefs, restaurateurs, horticulturalists, food vendors, 4-H members, and many others.

All of these wonderful people make our world a more beautiful and healthier place with the bounty of botanicals they paint, plant, nurture, research, sell, and prepare. If anyone gives us happiness in the present and optimism for the future, they do!

Take care. Take heart. And take a little time to enjoy some quiet moments in nature. We wish you botanical blessings. And we look forward to meeting you soon.

Life is short and we never have enough time for gladdening the hearts of those who travel the way with us.

O, be swift to love! Make haste to be kind.

(Henri Frederic Amiel, 1821–1888)
